Running an animal charity can be incredibly rewarding; however, the risks and pitfalls are plentiful. From infectious disease outbreaks to social media criticism, veterinary provision challenges to euthanasia decisions, there are many situations that can threaten to derail the hard work that really matters—caring for animals in need. This is where effective animal charity support becomes crucial.
Caroline's deep experience, firstly as a private vet supporting the local Cats Protection centre in North London and latterly as the RSPCA's Chief Vet, means that she is well placed to offer a broad range of veterinary consultancy services and in-depth support to animal charities facing operational challenges.
While at the RSPCA, Caroline's role involved supporting the Operations function, including animal centres, with professional advice and expertise. She was particularly concerned with ensuring that animal centres were working safely, effectively, and efficiently, with a focus on ensuring the best animal welfare outcomes for the individual animals, while maximizing overall impact through welfare health checks.
Caroline brings a wealth of operational experience and is able to help organizations utilize modern veterinary and welfare science and shelter metrics, ensuring they are maximizing their impact and on a path of continuous improvement.
If you run an animal charity that could benefit from a welfare health check, or if you have specific challenges you'd like to discuss regarding veterinary consultancy, please email support@petlighthouse.co.uk or fill in the contact form, and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
